About

Kristin Dozier is a driven and determined advocate who has committed her tenure as an elected official to promote economic development and bring life and synergy back to the Big Bend region. She has served as the Leon County Commissioner for District 5 for almost 12 years.
Kristin is one of the community’s leading progressive voices, fighting for structural and sustainable change to energize Tallahassee’s economy and bring opportunities to all people in the community.
Kristin believes in the power of collaboration and collective action. She has a long history of bringing groups together with similar goals, and thus expanding access to resources and funding. Bringing unification to our community requires vision and hard work, both of which Kristin stands ready to bring to the City of Tallahassee.

Kristin has served on innumerable local and regional Boards, focusing on economic growth and development throughout the Tallahassee and Big Bend region. One of the highlights of her work in this sector has been the restructuring of Innovation Park to give both FAMU and FSU access to funding and undeveloped land for future expansion. FAMU received more than $70 million for their research facility, which was funding they were not able to receive before this project. Additionally, as a member of the Innovation Park Board for more than 11 years, she led the effort to bring a high-tech incubator (North Florida Innovation Labs) to Innovation Park. When opened in 2023, NFIL is expected to generate over $20m in economic impacts for our community and create over 600 new jobs. She also spearheaded a County strategic initiative to ensure water projects are implemented holistically to protect the quality and quantity.
Before moving into political office, Kristin excelled in a sixteen year career in construction, culminating in her role as Green Building Advisor and Vice President of Mad Dog Construction, her family’s business. She was named a LEED Accredited Professional in 2007.
She holds a Masters in Arts in Religious Ethics and Philosophy, as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Religion from Florida State University. She earned her Associates Degree at Tallahassee Community College. She attended School for Applied Individualized Learning (SAIL), Fairview Middle School, and Hartsfield and Concord Elementary Schools. Born and raised in Tallahassee, she is deeply rooted in this community. Kristin is engaged to be married to John Webb, and together they have two dogs, Mocha and Bonnie.
